The Williamsburg AIDS Network (WAN)
is a Virginia nonprofit 501(C)3 organization serving the residents
of Williamsburg and the counties of James City, Charles City,
New Kent, and upper York.
The mission of WAN is to improve the
quality of life for all people within the communities it serves
through education about HIV/AIDS and service and support for
persons living with AIDS.
WAN is dedicated to prevention of HIV infection by offering
HIV awareness educational programs and providing moral, psychological
and educational support for people who have contracted Human
Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or Acquired Immune Deficiency
Syndrome (AIDS).
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
FOR 2007
Current Board Officers assumed their duties at the January,
2007 meeting. The officers and their affiliations are:
Chair, Lisa Giles-Wright, Home 1, 2, 3 Mortgage; Vice
Chair, Thomas Linneman, PhD, College of William and
Mary; Secretary, J. A. McElroy, Office of Mental Health
Services.
Board Members continuing are: David Connor, Sterilization
Services of Virginia; Mark Grovesteen, The Interiors
Group; William O'Connell, Jr., Retired Educator; and
Ramon Rodriguez, III, MD, ESQ, Rawls & McNelis,
PC.
New Board Members elected for a three-year term are
Felicia Brathwaite, Colonial Services Board; Nicole
Ellis, Williamsburg Montessori School; Robert Harrison
Gibbs, Jr., Mellette, PC; Cynthia Lupton, Ukrop's
Super Market; James Mundy, The Golden Strawberry;
